Our OB/GYN services include prenatal, birth, and postpartum care, gynecologic medical and surgical care for common conditions including fibroids, contraception care, and cancer screenings. Our experienced providers work together to offer you complete care, combined with personal attention and convenience. We also provide programs that support healthy pregnancies, births, and post-partum care, to ensure a healthy start for babies and support for our new moms and their families.

Obstetrics Care

We provide routine gynecologic care, menopausal services and contraception care. Many of our gynecological procedures are performed in the office setting at Unity.

Our services include:

Unity provides full obstetrical care, welcoming over 1500 babies a year. During pregnancy and after, our Certified Nurse Midwives, Family Medicine and OB/GYN Doctors will be there to support you.

To start OB care, patients are encouraged to call for a primary care appointment or come to the health center for a pregnancy test. Once your pregnancy is confirmed, we will provide options counseling. If you choose to continue your care with us, we will draw baseline labs and set you up with a telemedicine appointment with our dedicated nurse who will take a thorough history to get you connected to the right provider for your needs.

We strongly encourage reaching out early to access care. Unity also provides counseling for patients who are undecided about their pregnancy but as a FQHC, Unity does not provide abortion services.

WIC Program

Women, Infant, Child (WIC) is a food and nutrition program for pregnant women, caregivers, and children up to 5 years of age. WIC provides supplemental food vouchers, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support to ensure young families get the nutrition they need to start a healthy life.

Centering Pregnancy

Centering Pregnancy is an evidence-based program shown to improve pre-term birth rates. Pregnant women of similar gestational age receive prenatal care together as a group. At these group visits, women learn more about their pregnancy, when they should seek medical care, and build relationships with other expectant mothers.

HealthySteps Program

HealthySteps is an evidence-based pediatric primary care model that works with children ages 0-3 and their families to promote early childhood development and positive parenting. HealthySteps works to ensure that children receive tailored services based on their needs by working with a HealthySteps Specialist, a child development provider, who provides interventions, resource referrals, and closely follows up with family.

DC Mother-Baby Wellness Program

Concerns including stress, depression, anxiety, and mood swings are common during pregnancy but often go undetected and undertreated. The DC Mother-Baby Wellness Program offers problem-focused interventions to address these and other concerns during pregnancy and postpartum.
