Unity's NP Residency is for family nurse practitioners who have graduated from an accredited NP program within the last 18 months. The residency consists of a 12-month, full-time salaried position with benefits focused on primary care of high-risk populations. There is a 2-year contractual employment obligation after residency at which time your salary will increase commensurate with experience including quarterly bonuses in accordance with Unity's policies.

What are the program requirements?

  • Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program within the last 18 months of start date
  • Unrestricted RN license
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours/week) with annual salary of $75,000*
  • Ability to provide credentialing documentation at least 8 weeks prior to start date**:
  1. National Board Certification (AANP or ANCC)
  2. DC APRN license
  3. DEA
  4. CDS

**Given the credentialing process, it is highly recommended that applicants apply and set a date for the exam no later than 3 months prior to start date.

  • Three letters of recommendation: one personal reference, one clinical or supervisor reference and one education reference
  • Copy of transcripts
  • Detailed clinical hours, location and description
  • Completed application

What does the residency schedule look like?

The residency schedule is as follows: Sixty percent is continuity, 10% mentored, 20% specialty, 5% self-directed learning and 5% didactic.
